Class Notes 4/12/2023   Rachel Valliere ‘17, became the Assistant Director of Annual Funds and Advancement Services and Eastern Connecticut State University in December 2022. She was also asked to join the executive board of the Windham Historical Society, in Windham, CT. “I love getting to use my Arts Management Degree in so many different ways.” Class Notes 4/6/2023   Alex Mukendi '13 will receive his MBA from Babson College on May 13, 2023. Class Notes 3/24/2023   I live in Narragansett, RI with my husband of 20 years (Joe) and daughter, Rachel. Rachel is a junior at Quinnipiac University. Upon moving to Narragansett, I discovered the sport of PICKLEBALL and have been playing socially, and competitively, in leagues and in tournaments, for 2 years. The national magazine, IN PICKLE, wrote a piece on where to play pickleball in Rhode Island for their very first issue, and featured a photo of me playing pickleball at a local park. I also model for an online pickleball clothing line called Rachaelchatoor.com. The designer is the author of the children's book "WHERE ARE THE PICKLES IN PICKLEBALL?" and I'm featured as a character in that book. I'm the lady in the pink dress walking her dog in the park! My handle on Tik Tok is PADDLE BATTLES and it's where I use comedy to feature relatable issues and scenarios new and experienced pickle ballers face. I work at my local Recreation Center and recently created an after school pickleball program for middle schoolers. Class Notes 3/20/2023   Maura J. Mills '05 continues as an Associate Professor of Management and Organizational Behavior at The University of Alabama. She was recently tapped to be a state leader for the Alabama chapter of the Scholars Strategy Network (www.scholars.org), a national organization aimed at facilitating the transfer of academic research into public action and policy. I began a twenty-year career in Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer) until my retirement on March 31st, 2022. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the faculty and support staff at the college. The education I received was outstanding and I would highly recommend MCLA to anyone. In my experience, smaller colleges offer the personal touch that larger institutions lack. It feels more like a family environment. I miss the campus and think of it often. Thank you MCLA for all you have done for me. Class Notes 3/6/2023   I graduated my masters program last March! My manuscript that was produced during that program is currently in the editing process and I'm looking for ways to publish it. I used the research skills that I learned during my time at MCLA help me with most of the background of my characters. Fingers cross that I publish soon!” Class Notes 1/20/2023   Robert P. Roy, class of 1976, business administration, passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He leaves a wife and a son. He held an MBA and was a CPA. He spent most of his career with the Defense Contract Management Agency. I met my husband Roger in the library on campus when I was a freshman. We were married in 1978 and had 42 years of happiness together. Sadly, he passed away in 2020 and is missed greatly. I would love to hear from any of my 1976 classmates!” Class Notes 12/13/2022   Rachel (Dayton) Churchill ('06 BA History) has recently been elevated to Special Counsel at McCarter & English, LLP in its Boston office, where she has practiced since graduating from Suffolk Law School in 2009. McCarter & English is a full service commercial and private client law firm, and Rachel focuses her practice on commercial real estate acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and finance, with additional experience in public finance and C&I lending. Rachel lives with her husband and two children in Norwood, Massachusetts. Class Notes 12/5/2022   Working on another book. Still recycling and birding. Class Notes 11/28/2022   I have become a mom for the second time to a daughter born September 15th. Her name is Sofiyah and I'm so in love. Being a girl mom has changed me completely. Class Notes 11/18/2022   I am fortunate to have fantastic family and career I love. I am a COO & CTO for a local community mutual bank. I serve as the Chairman for a major regional community healthcare system, volunteer for other local organizations and spend time with my family. My husband supports me in all I do and I have three amazing adult children, two married, one in a committed relationship. I also have two beautiful granddaughters who make my heart sing! My life is full and I’m always learning! Best Pam class of 1984 Class Notes 9/28/2022   I am 83 and still working full-time. I am always grateful for the wonderful North Adams State College education, which allowed me to be a junior High School Principal at age 26. - Mike Porter Class Notes 9/22/2022   Just wanted to share news of my second co-authored book. Published by Univ. of Georgia Press over the summer, it's the first comprehensive history of a significant development coming out of WWI: the rise of ROTC together with the development of a popular movement against efforts to militarize public education in this country. https://ugapress.org/book/9780820362212/breaking-the-war-habit/ Class Notes 9/21/2022   David Pitcairn, NASC class of '86, died after a two-year battle with cancer on March 3, 2019. Dave was married and had two daughters. He was the owner of a contracting company in Ipswich. Dave was also a professional DJ.
