Class Notes Theodore Schneski 9/21/2023  
I graduated from MCLA in 2000. I joined the military shortly after. In January my wife and I move to Germany. There I will serve as Air Force Command Entomologist for Europe and Africa. I will sit in that position until 2027 before I retire with 22 years of service. Duty assignments Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii, Miesau Army Ammunition Depot, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Kelly Airfield, Texas, and Tyndall Air Force Base. Also performed duties in South Korea, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Received masters degree in entomology from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013.

Class Notes Leah E. Rice 9/7/2023  
Leah (Rice) Dvorzak '10 celebrated her wedding June 2023 to Adam Dvorzak at West End Johnnie's in Boston among family, friends, and MCLA alumni. More recently, Leah was honored to be the Keynote Speaker at MCLA's 2023 Convocation where she had the pleasure of addressing the incoming Class of 2027. In addition to getting married this year, Leah has taken on a new role as the Social Media Specialist for Tufts Medicine at the systemwide level.

Bryan Le Beau, Class of 1970, has published the third edition of his book - "The Story of the Salem Witch Trials," Here is a link to the book.

Class Notes Christine A. Girard 8/31/2023  
Chris is celebrating 25 years working with Steepleview Realty as a Broker Associate. Licensed in MA and VT a residential and multifamily specialist. She is associated with Weichert Realty as a sales associate out of the Stuart office covering Martin, Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach county in Florida for the last 5 years. Specializing in 2nd homes and vacation property.

She currently splits her time between Massachusetts and Florida with main residence still in North Adams and a second home in Stuart.

She has been with her partner Michael Cardinal for the last 6 years who is now retired from the Nuclear Power industry and they have been doing some long awaited traveling the world together.

She is a two- time cancer survivor once in 2012 and another round in 2022 having a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber in Boston. She is currently clear of all cancer right now and continues to be very active in life with the full steam ahead attitude.

In 2019 she sold her home in North Adams to the MCLA Alumni Foundation who purchased it and renovated it to house the President of the college. She is so proud that the house she so loved is now part of her Almamater.

Class Notes Susan M. Hakes Girard 8/30/2023  
Susan will present a chronological journey at The Adams Theater celebrating her 60-year career in the dance business which will include several forms of memorabilia of her career. She founded the Brookfield School of Dance in 1962, The Studio in 1972 and the Berkshire Dance Theater in 1982. Susan has taught dance to more than 30,000 students ages 3 to 80 in Massachusetts, Vermont, New York and now in Nevada. She directed a girls’ choral group THE MUSIGALS with her mother in the 60’s and created THE BROADWAY EXPRESS, a touring cabaret company in the 80’s. She produced, designed, directed, choreographed or costumed over 400 dance, theatrical, skating, pageant, musical theater, television and radio productions. Susan’s students have gone on to perform with several celebrities including Michael Jackson (BAD video), Madonna (A League of Their Own), Barbara Mandrell, Shirley MacLaine, and Stephanie Mills. Her students have performed on tour in the US, Europe, and Australia in A Chorus Line, Starlight Express, Hair, Can-Can and many others. Some have been in movies (The Poseidon Adventure, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Old Secrets No Lies, Friends With Benefits, How To Be Single, The Wright Path) and on television (Star Search, Dance Fever, Law and Order, Orange Is the New Black, Ray Donovan, The Jim Gaffigan Show, Nurse Jackie, Quantico, Younger, Elementary, New Amsterdam). Some are models doing print work (including magazine covers), appear in commercials and videos, and have earned degrees in Dance, Theater Arts, and Arts Administration at prestigious American colleges and universities. Others are making their marks in the film industry as award-winning actresses, producers and directors. Many own their own dance schools and companies and choreograph, teach and perform all over the country.

Anika Pommers-Dear recently graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI with a Mastes degree in International Relations. She is curently living in NYC.

Tom has recently been accepted into a program known as CASA N.H. CASA is an organization that works with abused and neglected children living in unhealthy environments whose main goal is to reunite them with their families if possible. He is very excited to do what he can for these children.

In June 2023 Kelsey Sherman was promoted to the position of Creative Director at Five Towers Media in Saratoga Springs, NY. In this role, Kelsey leverages her creative talents, project management skills and adaptable marketing expertise to navigate the evolving landscape of modern marketing. Additionally, she is the company's lead website designer.

Diane Skorupski has donated four books to the Freel Library whose content is based on real events from her career as a school librarian in Tucson, Arizona. The books were written by Toni Buzzeo and the titles are: "Our Librarian Won't Tell Us Anything", "Fire Up with Reading", "The Great Dewey Hunt", and "But I Read It on the Internet".
